Wellington Quoted on Westfarms Case

08/05/2006

On August 5, 2006, Ralph Wellington was quoted in the Journal Inquirer article “Judge Says Westfarms Allies’ Challenge belongs to State Court.” In the latest chapter in the long-running effort by Westfarms Mall to block construction of West Hartford's partially built Blue Back Square residential, retail, and entertainment complex, U.S. District Court Judge Robert Chatigny has dismissed another challenge by three individual opponents represented by the Westfarms’ lawyers.  “This case was not dismissed on its merit but on the grounds that the judge didn't feel that a federal court had the right to decide the issue of whether the demolition of the Board of Education building should be stopped while the Secretary of the Interior considers the nomination to have the town square determined a national historic district,” Ralph said.
