Heather Janis Gaw is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department. She focuses her practice on commercial litigation, with an emphasis on product liability, asbestos, and toxic tort matters.

Ms. Gaw has represented automotive manufacturers, HVAC corporations, and manufacturers of building and construction materials in product liability, asbestos, toxic tort, premises liability, and construction litigation. She has over a decade of experience litigating product liability and asbestos matters in federal and state courts on behalf of automotive manufacturers. Her work includes managing all phases of litigation, encompassing pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, developing expert witnesses, settlement negotiations, and trial. She also has experience managing several high-volume dockets. She currently serves as Discovery Liaison with the Special Master, co-defendants, and plaintiffs’ counsel for the New York City Asbestos Litigation docket.

In addition to her litigation work in New York, Ms. Gaw serves as national supervisory counsel for an international automobile manufacturer. In this role, Ms. Gaw coordinates all aspects of defense strategy, assisting clients and local counsel with litigation management, case strategy development, motion, and trial preparation.

While in law school, Ms. Gaw interned with the U.S. Army JAG Environmental Litigation Division and served as a student attorney at the Tulane Environmental Law Clinic.
