Obituary for Paul H. Titus

Mr. Titus handled a broad range of litigation in trial and appellate courts, especially complex business matters. This included shareholder disputes, securities issues, contract disputes, governmental regulation, and antitrust litigation. He represented governmental entities as well as public and private institutions. Mr. Titus also was a member of the Firm’s Pro Bono Committee. 

Mr. Titus was a member of Schnader’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Group and also the ADR Panel for the U.S. District Court, Western District of Pennsylvania.

Complex Business Litigation

  • Mr. Titus has regularly tried cases involving complex business disputes since 1970. His trial work has resulted in his election to the American College of Trial Lawyers. His clients have included Fortune 100 companies, national and regional accounting firms, law firms, and directors, officers and partners of such organizations.

Appellate Practice

  • Mr. Titus has participated in appeals in countless cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, federal courts of appeals, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and its Superior and Commonwealth Courts. He has argued more than 100 appeals during his career.

Governmental and Public Litigation

  • Mr. Titus has tried cases involving the authority of public bodies and agencies, the balance of power between branches of the government and the interpretation of constitutional and legislative provisions controlling public bodies. He has represented judicial agencies, various courts, members of the judiciary, local governmental bodies, and elected and appointed officials.

Investigations

  • Mr. Titus has successfully represented witnesses and targets of a statewide investigation of the failure to report and respond to child abuse by religious organizations. He also represented clergy members and others on various matters within the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
