Al Dandridge Takes Part in The Legal Intelligencer’s Diversity Roundtable

On April 17, 2013 by Schnader in Diversity

Schnader’s Chief Diversity Officer Albert S. Dandridge, III, was a panelist for The Legal Intelligencer’s 2013 Roundtable Discussion on Diversity Issues, which appeared as part of a special supplement to their April 16, 2013 edition. The publication invited 10 practitioners to come together and offer their suggestions on steps firms can take to increase diversity, the role of mentors and the next wave of diverse attorneys. The discussion is a follow-up to a 2011 roundtable that suggested concrete solutions for the issues the legal profession faces in recruiting, hiring and retaining diverse attorneys.

Among the topics Mr. Dandridge stressed with his fellow panelists were the importance of desiring to practice law vs. being a lawyer, the need to not only recruit diverse attorneys but to retain them, and the responsibility of mentoring and including young attorneys in the business of law.
