Albert Dandridge Quoted in Los Angeles Times

Securities Practice Group chair and Chief Diversity Officer Albert S. Dandridge III offered comment for the article, “Scheme Created Fake News Stories to Manipulate Stock Prices, SEC Alleges,” published in the Los Angeles Times on July 5. The article discusses an alleged scheme by actress Kamilla Bjorlin to produce hundreds of positive articles and social media posts to pump the stock prices of specific companies.

“This is a modern take on what we call the old pump-and-dump schemes of promoting a stock and then selling quickly to cash in on the price change,” said Mr. Dandridge.
