Albert S. Dandridge, III Honored as Giant of the Business Bar
On April 22, 2016 by Schnader in CorporateSchnader partner Albert S. Dandridge, III was honored by the Philadelphia Bar Association as a “Giant of the Business Bar” at a reception on April 21, 2016. Justin Klein, a partner at Ballard Spahr, moderated the event.
Mr. Dandridge recalled growing up in West Philadelphia across the street from his grandparents, and how often he noticed that people sought and received help from his grandfather, a health inspector for the City of Philadelphia. This “porch mentality” stuck with him and served him well in the Marine Corps and beyond, as he worked nights to put himself through college and law school.
Mr. Dandridge is the Immediate Past Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association. Asked about the highlights of his year as Chancellor, he said he was most proud of his “Boots on the Ground” initiative, which put lawyers in the community working with Habitat for Humanity, collecting school supplies, and serving meals at a local hospice.
Mr. Dandridge is Schnader’s Chief Diversity Officer and Chair of the firm’s Securities Practice Group. He concentrates his practice in municipal and corporate finance matters, counseling major public companies, broker-dealers and investment advisors with respect to their securities reporting and financing requirements. He previously served the Securities and Exchange Commission as associate director of small business and international corporate finance and as special counsel in the Division of Corporate Finance.
“Giants of the Business Bar” is a series of programs in which the Business Law Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association recognizes those who have had a significant impact on the practice of business law in Philadelphia and beyond, and provides an opportunity for both young and experienced lawyers to learn from the honorees.
