Arts & Business Council of Greater Philadelphia Names Melissa Blanton Business On Board Volunteer Leader of the Year

Melissa S. Blanton, Vice-Chair of Schnader’s Corporate and Finance Practice Group, has been named the 2013 Business On Board Volunteer Leader of the Year by the Arts & Business Council of Greater Philadelphia. Ms. Blanton was selected for this award due to her service to Perkins Center for the Arts, where she currently serves as President of the Board of Trustees. Ms. Blanton joined the Perkins board in 2008, became an officer in 2009 and is currently in her second term as President.

The Arts & Business Council of Greater Philadelphia is tasked with strengthening the region’s creative sector, including arts, culture and for-profit creative businesses, by engaging the business, legal & technology communities, providing capacity-building services, and serving as a thought leader and a convener.

The Arts & Business Council of Greater Philadelphia Award Celebration 2013 took place on May 8, 2013. This year marks the 28th annual awards celebration. The awards recognize outstanding leadership, innovation, volunteerism, and partnerships in the support and service of the arts and cultural sector of our region.
