Barry S. Alexander and Edward J. Sholinsky were recently elected by the partners of Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP to the firm’s governing body, the Executive Committee, and Melissa S. Blanton was re-elected to continue her service on the Executive Committee.
Alexander is a partner in the Litigation Services Department, co-chair of the Aviation Group, and a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. His practice concentrates on representation of airlines, product manufacturers, service companies, and aviation insurers in a wide variety of commercial, product liability, insurance coverage, and personal injury litigation, and on the representation of premises owners and contractors in litigation arising under the New York Labor Law. Alexander acts as lead counsel in litigation in state and federal courts across the United States, and has significant experience handling international arbitrations.
Sholinsky is a partner in the Litigation Services Department, chair of the firm’s Hiring Committee, and a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. He has significant experience across multiple industries and often represents retail and web-based companies in business and consumer disputes at the trial and appellate levels. He has litigated numerous cases on behalf of regional and national banks, retailers, and nonprofit organizations.
Blanton is chair of the Finance Practice Group, a member of the Real Estate Practice Group, and a member of the Associates Professional Development Committee. She represents financial institutions in various types of residential, retail, and office development projects, in syndicated secured real estate credit facilities, and in the structuring, drafting, and negotiation of workout and forbearance agreements. She also represents investors and institutional clients in complex real estate sales and acquisitions. In addition, Blanton has significant experience representing landlords and tenants in commercial leasing transactions.
