New York – Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP is pleased to welcome Barry S. Alexander as a partner to the firm. He joins the Litigation Services Department and is resident in the New York Office.
Mr. Alexander’s practice covers all aspects of litigation in state and federal courts across the United States. His areas of focus include commercial litigation, insurance coverage, aviation law and litigation, cargo law, bankruptcy law and contract negotiation/litigation.

A frequent lecturer nationally and internationally, Mr. Alexander has presented on a wide variety of aviation liability and regulatory issues at conferences such as the IATA Cargo Claims and Loss Prevention Conference and the ACI Aviation Litigation Conference. He also is an accomplished writer, having co-authored the aviation law update for the annual ABA Aviation Litigation Conference in New York, and published articles and book chapters on subjects including the admissibility of expert evidence, removal of Montreal Convention actions, notice of claims in Montreal Convention cargo actions, tort reform and the doctrine of forum non conveniens. He was the publications chair of DRI’s Aerospace Committee and editor of Skywritings, the Committee’s newsletter, between 2008 and 2011.
Prior to joining Schnader, Mr. Alexander was with Clyde & Co US LLP in New York. He received his J.D. from Duke University School of Law and his B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.
