Bressler, Barrie Note BAPCPA Amendments

Barry Bressler and Michael Barrie‘s article, “Bankruptcy Code Amendments and Leases,” was published in Volume 1, Issue 3 of Landlord Tenant-Pennsylvania (May 2006). The article discusses amendments to the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 (BAPCPA) signed by President George W. Bush on April 20, 2005. The BAPCPA contained the most sweeping reforms to federal bankruptcy law since 1978 and leveled the playing field between landlords and commercial tenants that were bankruptcy debtors.
