Deena Jo Schneider Comments on Traditions at Yale

On March 29, 2009 by Schnader in News

Deena Jo Schneider, a partner in the Firm’s Philadelphia office, was quoted in a March 29 Philadelphia Inquirer article titled “Emissaries of the Alma Mater Visit Area Yalies.” On March 28, “Connect with Yale,” a program of the Yale University alumni office, came to the Crowne Plaza-Center City in Philadelphia. The program’s activities included networking with area alumni and presentations from current Yale professors. Ms. Schneider, a 1971 graduate and the president of the Yale Club of Philadelphia, attended the event. Commenting on her alma mater, she rejected the image of Yale as an elite, forbidding institution. “Residential colleges,” she said, referring to Yale College’s 12 smaller communities, “are like instant families when you get to Yale. It’s as if you’ve gone to a much smaller school. It’s that bond that keeps people together.”
