Dennis R. Suplee was recognized with the Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel’s 2009 Distinguished Service Award at the organization’s Annual Meeting on June 10. The Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel (PADC) annually honors a member of the Bar who best exemplifies the qualities of professionalism and dedication as defense counsel in the practice of law and promotes the highest ideals of justice in the community. Nominations may be made and are considered on the basis of activities during the preceding year or for career achievement. In addition to the recognition at PADC’s Annual Meeting, the organization contributes $1000.00 to a charity of the recipient’s choosing; Mr. Suplee chose Community Legal Services to receive the funds.

Founded shortly after World War II by attorney Ralph Croskey, PADC seeks to provide members of the defense bar an opportunity for continued professional development, meaningful community involvement through legislative and judicial reform and pro bono programs, and programs that allow for networking and social opportunities among the membership. In 1991, PADC was recognized as the “most outstanding local bar group in the United States,” by the Defense Research Institute.
