Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP is proud of the appointment of Edward J. Sholinsky to serve as Vice President of the Board of Directors for HIAS Pennsylvania. Ed has been a HIAS Pennsylvania Board member since 2012. In addition to being named Vice President, Ed chairs HIAS’s Fundraising Committee. He is also active in pro bono matters, recently obtaining a jury verdict in favor of his client against the warden of the Berks County Jail for violations of his client’s First Amendment rights.

“The mission of HIAS Pennsylvania is ‘welcoming the stranger,’ and protecting immigrant rights is important to me,” Ed said. “For more than a century, HIAS has been a highly respected regional and national leader on these crucial issues. I am honored to be entrusted with more of a leadership role in the organization.”

A litigator with experience across multiple industries, Ed often represents financial institutions and Internet companies at the trial and appellate levels. He has litigated numerous cases on behalf of regional and national banks involving Articles 3 and 4 of the UCC, allegations of breach of fiduciary duty, and fraud. He has also advocated on behalf of some of the largest web-based companies in business disputes including fraud, theft of trade secrets, and RICO.
