Lewis commented on the United States House of Representatives approving Speaker John Boehner to proceed with a lawsuit against President Barack Obama. The suit accuses the President of exceeding the bounds of his constitutional authority, particularly related to executive orders tied to the Affordable Care Act. The vote was 225-201 and followed party lines.
In the article, Judge Lewis, formerly of the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, said that with appeals, it would take at least one-and-a-half to two years for the suit to wind through the federal judicial system. President Obama leaves office in January 2017.
