Judge Lewis to Consult on Diversity in ADR
On June 9, 2006 by Schnader in NewsJudge Timothy Lewis has agreed to serve on the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution’s (CPR) National Task Force on Diversity in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). The purpose of the task force is to convene a group of influential corporate legal leaders, and others, to make practical recommendations aimed towards increasing the participation of female and minority mediators and arbitrators in major commercial disputes. The task force would speak from the point of view of the corporate and legal “end-user” and devise programs or initiatives that can be immediately put into place to encourage more diversity in the ADR community and to better serve the needs of companies engaged in mediation and arbitration. The announcement of Judge Lewis’ acceptance will be made at the CPR Spring Conference in Atlanta next week. Judge Lewis also serves on the CPR National Panel of Distinguished Neutrals.
