Businesses operating in Pennsylvania often need to be prepared and react very swiftly to jurisdictional issues when facing a newly filed lawsuit. Failing to effectively handle these challenges can lead directly to higher litigation costs and limited strategic options. This session addressed the following issues, which have been hot topics due to cases recently decided, as well as others that are pending in state and federal courts: (i) Pre-service removal from state to federal court; (ii) Personal jurisdiction by corporate registration; (iii) Other interrelated jurisdictional issues; (iv) Updates on recent and pending litigation.
