Laurel Brandstetter Interviewed on Voice of America International
On May 22, 2017 by Schnader in Criminal DefenseOn May 18, 2017, Partner Laurel Brandstetter was interviewed on Voice of America International Edition regarding the Justice Department’s appointment of former FBI Director Robert Mueller III as special counsel in the investigation into ties between President Trump’s campaign and Russian officials.
Ms. Brandstetter explained that a special counsel has all the powers of a U.S. attorney in terms of interviewing witnesses, issuing subpoenas, reviewing classified documents and issuing charges. She noted the investigation could last at least six months.
Ms. Brandstetter focuses her practice on white collar criminal defense and internal investigations. She previously served as a prosecutor with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
