Laurel Gift Appeared in an Episode of “Breaking Homicide” on the Investigation Discovery Network

Laurel Gift appeared in an episode of “Breaking Homicide” on the Investigation Discovery network airing June 17, 2019. The episode, “Justice for Geno” involves the unexplained death of 23-year-old Codi Joyce after a brawl at a Pittsburgh-area house party in 2015. As summarized by the show notes – “[N]obody has been charged for his death, and witnesses won’t talk. Who was the instigator that night? Was this a case of self-defense, or was Codi murdered in cold blood?”

Gift chairs Schnader’s Criminal Defense practice group and the Internal Investigations, Ethics and Compliance practice group. In the episode of Breaking Homicide, Gift discusses the criminal laws related to homicide, the known evidence in the Codi Joyce case, and presents an insider’s view of how unexplained deaths are investigated and prosecuted.

Before entering private practice, Gift served as a Senior Deputy Attorney General for the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General and as an Assistant District Attorney in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
