Lee Schwartzberg to Receive 2017 Support Center for Child Advocates Award

Lee Schwartzberg, Jr. is a recipient of the 2017 Distinguished Advocates Award presented by The Support Center for Child Advocates (Child Advocates). He will be honored at the Child Advocates’ Anniversary Benefit Reception & Auction on April 19, 2017.
Mr. Schwartzberg has served as a Child Advocates volunteer attorney for 11 years. He also is a member of Schnader’s Pro Bono Committee.
This year’s Distinguished Advocates Awards recognize and honor the volunteers and community leaders who have been committed to protecting and advocating for our most vulnerable children. Celebrating 40 years as the nation’s oldest and largest pro bono legal and social service advocacy organization representing abused and neglected children, Child Advocates provides legal assistance and social service advocacy for abused and neglected children in Philadelphia County. Child Advocates is one of the most successful volunteer models serving children in the country, teaming volunteer lawyers with staff social workers to advocate for a permanent nurturing environment for every child. Since its founding in 1977, Child Advocates has trained more than 6,000 attorneys who contribute pro bono services valued at more than $4.6 million annually.
Mr. Schwartzberg is vice chair of the firm’s Business Services Department and a member of the Corporate and Financial Services practice groups. He has represented domestic and international purchasers and sellers of a variety of businesses including manufacturers, distributors, retailers, technology companies, professional practices and service businesses. He has structured, drafted and negotiated contracts for the purchase and sale of goods and services including automotive and pharmaceutical and products, license agreements, development agreements, leases, and a wide variety of other contracts for U.S. and foreign-based companies. He has extensive experience representing owners of closely-held businesses. He represents borrowers as well as lenders, and his loan workout experience includes forbearance agreements, loan restructuring and the sale of collateral.
