Megan Harmon and Sarah Hewitt Profiled in The American Lawyer

On March 27, 2017 by Schnader in Mergers and Acquisitions

Partners Megan Harmon and Sarah Hewitt were profiled in the article, “M&A’s Missing Women,” published on March 27, 2017 by The American Lawyer.

Mergers & Acquisitions practice, which can require working under the gun late nights and weekends, with demanding buyers and sellers, aggressive negotiations and often with the added frustration of satisfying financial participants, has long been a male-dominated area of the law. This article examines the difficulties faced by women who worked their way up in M&A and are now leading major transactions and heading up practice groups in the M&A arena. Ms. Harmon and Ms. Hewitt, co-chairs of Schnader’s Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group, discuss their challenges with both implicit gender bias and outright sexism at the negotiation table.
