Partners Richard Barkasy and Christine Carty Named to Schnader’s Executive Committee
On April 30, 2015 by Schnader in Labor and EmploymentSchnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP is pleased to announce that Richard Barkasy and Christine Carty have been elected to the firm’s executive committee for three-year terms by the firm’s partners. The seven-member committee manages the operations and provides financial oversight of the firm.
Rich is co-chair of the firm’s Creditors’ Rights and Business Restructuring Practice Group. His practice focuses on bankruptcy, commercial foreclosure and creditors’ rights matters. He is also an experienced commercial litigator, representing clients in state and federal courts in lender liability, fraudulent conveyance, breach of fiduciary duty and other complex cases. Rich is admitted to practice in Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Chris is managing partner of the New York office. She represents clients in commercial and employment-related litigation and proceedings; counsels regarding the gamut of employment issues; and negotiates and prepares employment and related agreements. Her practice also includes representing not-for-profit entities as litigation and general outside counsel, with recent experience in self-dealing and breach of fiduciary duty issues.
Walter Ferst stepped down from the committee after a five-year term. During his time as a member of the executive committee, he helped usher in several new initiatives that helped pave the way for Schnader’s continued service to the practice of law and the community. The firm thanks Walter for his dedicated and unwavering service.
