Pittsburgh Professional Notes Bock for Engineering, Law Leadership
On October 1, 2007 by Schnader in LitigationMichael Bock was featured in the October 2007 Pittsburgh Professional magazine article “Bridging Careers: Lawyer Michael Bock Changed Careers Many Years Ago, but He Remains a Leader among Local Engineers.” In the waning days of the steel industry, professionals – often with decades of experience – were being laid off from employment and forced to change jobs. It was then that Michael decided to attend law school and move into a second career of practicing construction law. Although he left the practice of engineering, Michael never truly left the engineering profession and was encouraged by former American Bridge colleague and executive Jim Dwyer to become involved with the Engineers’ Society of Western Pennsylvania, one of the oldest engineering societies in the nation. Michael eventually went on to become the president of the society.
