Ralph Wellington Elected to the Board of Directors for the International Academy of Trial Lawyers
On April 11, 2012 by Schnader in AntitrustRalph G. Wellington has been elected to a three year term on the Board of Directors for the International Academy of Trial Lawyers (IATL). Mr. Wellington, a Fellow of the Academy since 1999, has extensive experience representing major corporations in significant litigation and business matters throughout the United States. He is an active appellate advocate, having argued before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Third, Sixth and Seventh circuits, as well as appellate courts in various states. Mr. Wellington served as Chairman of Schnader from 1998 to 2010.
Chartered in 1954, the purpose of the ITAL is to cultivate the science of jurisprudence, promote reforms in the law, facilitate the administration of justice, promote the rule of law internationally, elevate the standards of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession, and cherish the spirit of brotherhood among the members. Active Academy membership is limited to 500 Fellows from the United States. In addition, the Academy includes 100 Fellows from over 30 countries throughout the world. Members are engaged in civil and criminal trial practice from both the plaintiff’s and the defendant’s side of the counsel table. The members of the IATL represent the most exceptional attorneys in the world.
Schnader is proud to have five attorneys who are Fellows of the prestigious and well-regarded the Academy, including Elizabeth K. Ainslie, William H. Brown, III, Lawrence T. Hoyle, Jr., and Dennis R. Suplee. Additionally, Mr. Suplee was President of the ITAL in 2009 and previously served on the Academy’s Board of Directors.
