Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP moved an impressive 22 positions – from 242nd place last year, to 220th place this year – on the National Law Journal‘s 28th annual listing of the nation’s 250 largest law firms, which was published recently.  This reflects the firm’s focus on strategic, smart growth through the addition of talent in both the firm’s traditional practice areas – corporate law, litigation, family law and financial planning – and in emerging areas, including labor and employment, energy and construction, and intellectual property.  The firm added 17 attorneys during the time of the survey.

In an interview with The Legal Intelligencer, Chairman Ralph Wellington noted that, “this is a strategic expansion of our existing offices.” Wellington estimates that the firm will continue to grow at the rate that it did over the past 12 months, and indicated that the firm may open new offices in 2006.
