Schnader is saddened to announce the passing of counsel Allan D. Goodridge on December 17, 2016.

“Allan was a skilled lawyer, exemplary partner for 30 years and a fine human being. He was generous of heart, always learning, willing to teach and mentor others, and appreciative of the joyful moments in life,” said Christine Carty, managing partner of the New York office.

The son of a U.S. Foreign Service officer, Allan was born in Romania and educatedĀ in Costa Rica and France. He was an accomplished pianist and a fan of classical music. He also read widely and loved contemporary art and languages. In addition to English and French, he spoke Spanish, Italian and German.

Allan earned his B.A. from Harvard University in 1957 and his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law in 1960. His law practice, which spanned over 50 years, included mergers and acquisitions, licensing and distribution, banking and loan agreements, publishing and art law, and wills and estates. Allan joined Schnader in 1986, and served on the firm’s Executive Committee from 1994-1998.
