Schnader Participates in Volunteer Day at Ronald McDonald House of Pittsburgh
On August 25, 2015 by Schnader in LitigationOn August 25, 2015, lawyers and staff from Schnader’s Pittsburgh office volunteered with Ronald McDonald House of Pittsburgh to cook and serve lunch to the families in residence. Schnader employees planned the menu that included meat, cheese, and vegetable trays, rolls for sandwiches, salad, and pasta. Volunteers purchased the ingredients along with beverages, fruit and applesauce cups, cookies, protein bars, candy, and potato chips.
Approximately 50 to 60 individuals attended the lunch. Eight employees were on-hand to prepare and serve the meal, including attorneys Karen Baillie, Megan Harmon, Elliot Dater, and Keith Whitson as well as staff members Merlinda Bisese, Ginger Rodgers, Melanie Uziel, and Robbie Wolfinger. The Schnader volunteers were all overwhelmed by how thankful the families were to have a meal prepared for them.
Associated with several hospitals throughout the Pittsburgh region, Ronald McDonald House provides temporary housing for up to 60 families who have traveled to the region for medical treatment. Their mission is to provide “a home away from home.” Ronald McDonald House requests a $15 donation per night, however, no family is turned away based on their ability to pay.
