FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 25, 2007 – Philadelphia, PA – The Executive Committee of Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP has approved an increase in first-year associate salaries in its Philadelphia office from $125,000 to $135,000, effective September 1, 2007, with corresponding adjustments to starting salaries in Schnader’s other offices. The Associates Professional Development Committee – which advises the Executive Committee on associate issues – is also reviewing and will make recommendations on salaries of more senior classes of associates in all offices. The Executive Committee also announced an increase in the year-end merit bonus pool.
“These changes reflect changes in the market in Philadelphia, and across the nation, with regard to starting salaries,” said Chairman Ralph Wellington. “However, beyond just the changes in the market, these increases also reflect how much the firm greatly values its associates. We chose to take these steps in order to retain and attract the best, most talented young attorneys.” He noted that building and maintaining a strong group of attorneys is consistent with the firm’s long-standing commitment to excellence and dedication to providing clients with top-notch legal services.
