Schnader is representing the State of Maryland and The Insurance Company of Pennsylvania in a suit filed against the federal government regarding the 2008 crash of a state police medevac helicopter. The crash killed four people and the suit claims that three air traffic controllers employed by the Federal Aviation Administration failed to provide adequate weather information, did not assist the pilot with his approach in heavy fog, and were distracted by less important matters.
Three articles on the suit appeared in newspapers on January 13, 2011:
The Washington Post: Maryland sues federal govt. over helicopter crash;
The Baltimore Sun: Md. sues U.S., calls air controllers negligent in medevac copter crash; and
The Daily Record: State sues feds over 2008 medevac crash.
