Schnader Team Granted COA from FAAOn August 20, 2015 by Schnader in Litigation
Schnader attorneys helped client Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. obtain an exemption to operate its unmanned aircraft system (UAS), the DJI Phantom 2 Vision, to conduct aerial acquisition in surveying, monitoring, and inspecting. On May 15, 2015, Schnader petitioned the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for relief from 14 CFR part 21, Certification procedures for products and parts, Subpart H – Airworthiness Certificates. The FAA found that the aircraft in question meets the conditions of Section 333 and granted the exemption.
The FAA stated that it has issued grants of exemption in similar circumstances for similar non-passenger UAS operations, and that the exemption is in the public interest.
