Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP is pleased to welcome back labor and employment partner Jo Bennett to the firm’s Philadelphia office. Prior to returning to Schnader, Ms. Bennett was a partner at Stevens & Lee.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jo back to Schnader,” said Litigation Department chair Sam Silver. “She is a talented courtroom lawyer who will bring her presence to bear on behalf of our clients with labor and employment litigation needs, but she also provides the Firm and our clients with substantial experience handling affirmative action compliance issues and other employment counseling. She is a great lawyer and a super person who will quickly become a leader of our team.”
Ms. Bennett’s practice involves advising employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, including compliance and strategies for avoiding litigation. She represents organizations in administrative and court proceedings involving state and federal anti-discrimination statutes, wage-and-hour disputes, and compliance audits.
Ms. Bennett’s clients span a range of industries, including financial services, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and higher education. Additionally, she assists federal contractors across the United States with equal employment opportunity and affirmative action compliance, including the preparation, management, and defense of affirmative action programs.
Ms. Bennett is a certified senior professional in human resources (SPHR) and regularly counsels clients on best practices in recruiting, interviewing and hiring; compensation; policy and procedures development and implementation; and discrimination testing. She conducts workplace investigations, and provides training to clients and professionals on labor and employment issues.
She earned her J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law, cum laude, and her B.A. from Western Kentucky University, summa cum laude. Ms. Bennett is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations; the Forum of Executive Women; and the Greater Philadelphia Senior Executive Group. She currently serves as vice chair of the Board of Trustees at Arcadia University.
