October 15, 2010 – Philadelphia, PA: Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP is pleased to welcome six new associates to the Firm:
Marieke Tuthill Beck-Coon is joining the Firm’s Litigation Services Department, resident in the Philadelphia office. She graduated, magna cum laude, in May 2008 from Temple University Beasley School of Law, where she was a Notes and Comment Editor of the Temple International & Comparative Law Journal, a Rubin Public Interest Law Honor Society Fellow, a participant in the Federal Defenders Habeas Unit’s Death Penalty clinical, and the recipient of many different honors and distinctions for writing and oral advocacy. She graduated, summa cum laude, in 2004 with a B.A. from New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, and graduated in 2001 with an International Baccalaureate from the United World College of the Adriatic in Trieste, Italy. After law school, Ms. Tuthill Beck-Coon served as a law clerk to the Honorable A. Richard Caputo of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania (2008 – 2009) and as a legal fellow for the American Civil Liberties Union of Pennsylvania (2009 – 2010). She was a summer associate with the Firm in 2007.
Levi E. Jones is joining the Firm’s Litigation Services Department, resident in our Washington, DC office. Mr. Jones graduated in 2009 from The George Washington University Law School, where he was a member of The George Washington Law Review, and graduated cum laude from the University of Utah with a B.S. in Economics and International Studies. Prior to joining our Firm, he was a legal fellow with the Natural Resources Defense Council in Washington, DC. He also has served as a law clerk to the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar and is admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Mr. Jones was a summer associate with the Firm in 2008.
Natalie Bush-Lents is joining the Firm’s Litigation Services Department, resident in our San Francisco office. Ms. Bush-Lents graduated from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, where she was a member of the Ecology Law Quarterly and a nominee for the American College of Bankruptcy Distinguished Law Student Award. She graduated, summa cum laude, with a B.S. in Mathematics from Centre College, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the recipient of the Goldwater Scholarship, a national program recognizing distinction in undergraduate research. Prior to joining Schnader, Ms. Bush-Lents served as a law clerk to the Honorable Leslie Tchaikovsky of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California. She has also served as an extern to the Honorable Dennis Montali of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California. She is a member of the State Bar of California.
Barbara E. Little is joining the Firm’s Tax and Wealth Management Department and Trusts and Estates Practice Group, resident in our Philadelphia office. Ms. Little graduated from Temple University Beasley School of Law, where she served as vice president and a member of the Moot Court Honor Society, and received the Temple Law Alumni Moot Court Award recognizing excellence in appellate advocacy. She anticipates receiving her LL.M. in Tax and Certification in Estate Planning from Temple in May 2011. Ms. Little also holds an M.S. in Human Resources Development from Towson State University and an M.Ed. in Higher Education from Arizona State University. She received her undergraduate degree in psychology and sociology from Northern Arizona State University. Since receiving her J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law, she has served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable John E. Wallace, Jr. of the New Jersey Supreme Court. Prior to attending law school, she served as Assistant Dean of Students for the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, as well as several other academic positions at universities in Maryland and Ohio, and has experience as a human resources consultant to both for profit and nonprofit companies. She is a member of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey bars.
Katrin C. Rowan is joining the Firm’s Litigation Services Department, resident in the Philadelphia office. Ms. Rowan graduated, summa cum laude, in May 2008 from Temple University Beasley School of Law, where she was a Note/Comment Editor of the Temple Law Review. She was the recipient of several awards and scholarships based on academic performance and a member of the Rubin Public Interest Law Honor Society. She graduated, summa cum laude, from American University in May 2005, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. After law school, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Paul S. Diamond of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania (2008 – 2009) and to the Honorable Maryanne Trump Barry of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit (2009 – 2010). She is a member of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey bars.
Timothy D. Sirhal is joining the Litigation Services Department, resident in the Philadelphia office. Mr. Sirhal graduated, cum laude, in May 2009 from Temple University Beasley School of Law, where he was a member of the Temple Law Review. He received an M.A. in Corporate Communication from Duquesne University in December 2002. While at Duquesne, Mr. Sirhal contributed to the initial founding of the Duquesne University Equal Justice Project and served as a workshop leader for the 2002 Death Penalty Conference at the University of Pittsburgh. He also holds a B.A. in English and Journalism from Millersville University. He also worked for several years at the United States Department of Veterans Affairs Benefits Administration, and continues to volunteer with local veterans organizations.
