Schnader’s Paul Titus Interviewed by CBS Pittsburgh
On January 23, 2012 by Schnader in AntitrustPaul H. Titus, counsel in the Firm’s Pittsburgh office, was interviewed by local CBS affiliate KDKA-TV on January 18, 2012, regarding reports that State Supreme Court Justice Joan Orie Melvin is under investigation by a grand jury. Amid reports of the investigation, many have asked Justice Orie Melvin to step down from her duties. “She should step aside until this controversy is resolved,” said Mr. Titus, who also serves on the Advisory Board of Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts. Mr. Titus noted that even though Orie Melvin must be presumed innocent, there is another issue at stake. “With investigations pending and public controversy, there’s another principle involved – and that is protecting the public’s trust and confidence in the courts – and she should step aside, temporarily, until that is resolved,” said Mr. Titus.
