November 1, 2011 – Washington, D.C.: Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP is pleased to announce that Stephen A. Fogdall and Steven K. Armstrong have joined the Firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Mr. Fogdall, a partner in the Firm’s Litigation Services Department, was previously resident in the Firm’s Philadelphia office. Mr. Armstrong joins the Firm as an associate in the Litigation Services Department. The addition of Fogdall and Armstrong will enhance existing practice areas within the office, particularly with regard to the litigation, appellate, aviation and product liability practices, and will allow the Schnader D.C. team to continue to offer insightful counsel and top-notch service to its clients.
Mr. Fogdall participates in numerous areas of the Firm’s commercial litigation practice, including financial services litigation, product liability litigation, and class action defense. He is also a member of the Firm’s Appellate Practice Group, and has argued appeals in the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania and the Superior Court of Pennsylvania. He is recognized as a “Pennsylvania Rising Star” by Super Lawyers in the area of business litigation, and was the 2007 recipient of the Firm’s Earl G. Harrison Pro Bono Award. Mr. Fogdall holds a B.A. from the University of Washington, where he graduated magna cum laude in 1990 and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He also received a Ph.D. from the University of Washington in 1997. In 2001, he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
Mr. Armstrong, who will be joining the Firm’s Aviation Practice Group, is a United States Naval Aviator, a veteran of Operations Enduring Freedom and Northern Watch, and is qualified in multiple Navy aircraft. Currently, he is an instructor pilot at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Washington, and provides Navy fleet squadron support at Andrews Air Force Base, Washington, D.C. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Armstrong served as a prosecutor for the United States Attorney’s Office in the General Crimes Section and tried multiple criminal cases to verdict before the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. A graduate of the United States Navy and Naval Aviation Schools, he received a B.B.A. in Finance from New Mexico State University in 1992 and a J.D. from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2009. He also received an LL.M. in Litigation and Dispute Resolution from George Washington University Law School, graduating with highest honors in 2010.
