‘There Is No God’: Pennsylvania Transit System Refuses to Run Ad Denying ‘Existence of Supreme Deity’

On April 30, 2015 by Schnader in Appellate

Schnader associate Monica Clarke Platt is quoted in “‘There Is No God’: Pennsylvania Transit System Refuses to Run Ad Denying ‘Existence of Supreme Deity,'” published in The Christian Post. Northeastern Pennsylvania Freethought Society recently filed a complaint against the County of Lackawanna Transit System (COLTS)¬†after the transit system rejected the secular group’s ads on numerous occasions. Ms. Platt has teamed up with the Pennsylvania chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union to represent the group in its suit against the transit system. In her interview, she discusses the First Amendment issues the case brings to light, and why COLTS cannot limit space to prevent debate or discussion.
