Three Schnader Attorneys Named 2012 “Lawyers of the Year” by The Best Lawyers in America

These lawyers have received particularly high ratings and have earned a high level of respect among their peers for their abilities, professionalism, and integrity.
Hon. Arlin M. Adams, counsel in the Firm’s Philadelphia office, has been named the 2012 “Philadelphia Lawyer of the Year for Mediation” by The Best Lawyers in America. Mr. Adams has a diversified litigation and appellate practice and has handled numerous complex litigation matters. He has extended knowledge of class action litigation and punitive damage matters. Before becoming counsel to the Firm, he served as a U.S. Court of Appeals judge from 1969 to 1987. His professional and civic leadership has been evident throughout the length of his distinguished career, and in 2001, Susquehanna University created the Arlin M. Adams Center for Law and Society at Susquehanna to honor his many achievements. The University of Pennsylvania Law School and the Annenberg Foundation established the Arlin M. Adams Professorship on Constitutional Law in his honor in 2005.
Jeffrey W. Letwin, managing partner of the Firm’s Pittsburgh office and co-chair of the Business Services Department, has been named the 2012 “Pittsburgh Lawyer of the Year for Municipal Law” by The Best Lawyers in America. Chair of the Franchise Law Practice Group, Mr. Letwin’s practice includes all areas of business counseling including corporate finance, securities, franchising, municipal and government services, real estate finance and development. He counsels enterprises in the interface between governmental and economic development agencies and devises financing strategies utilizing both private and public partnerships. Mr. Letwin serves as counsel for the Allegheny County Airport Authority, a position he has held since the inception of the authority. He also has extensive experience representing franchisors in all aspects of developing and managing a franchise business.
Paul H. Titus, counsel in the Firm’s Pittsburgh office, has been named the 2012 “Pittsburgh Lawyer of the Year for Appellate Practice” by The Best Lawyers in America. Mr. Titus has handled a broad range of litigation in trial and appellate courts, especially complex business matters. This includes shareholder disputes, securities issues, contract disputes, governmental regulation and antitrust litigation. He represents governmental entities as well as public and private institutions. Mr. Titus is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, American Bar Foundation, Pennsylvania Bar Foundation and the Allegheny Bar Foundation.
