Two Schnader Attorneys Named 2008 “Lawyers on the Fast Track”
On August 7, 2008 by Schnader in LitigationAugust 7, 2008 – Philadelphia & Pittsburgh, PA: Lauren Sorrentino, an attorney in Schnader’s Philadelphia office, and Keith Edward Whitson, an attorney in Schnader’s Pittsburgh office, have been named 2008 “Lawyers on the Fast Track” by The Legal Intelligencer and Pennsylvania Law Weekly. They are included among the 35 attorneys recognized by the editors as the future leaders of the state’s legal community.

The “Lawyers on the Fast Track” award recognizes Pennsylvania lawyers under 40 who have shown outstanding promise in the legal profession and have made a significant commitment to the community-at-large. The thirty-five winners were selected by a committee of practicing attorneys, law school deans and other bar association leaders from across Pennsylvania.
Ms. Sorrentino is an associate in the Family Law Department of Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis llp. Her practice includes all areas of family law, including divorce, equitable distribution, custody, support and domestic violence. Ms. Sorrentino is the Co-Chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association Family Law Section’s Domestic Violence Committee, as well as a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association Public Interest Law Section. She has published numerous articles on a variety of family law topics in the Philadelphia Lawyer, the Pennsylvania Bar Association Quarterly and Pennsylvania Law Weekly. Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Sorrentino was an Independence Foundation Fellow at the Women’s Law Project. She received her J.D. in 2002 from Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California at Berkeley, where she served as the Executive Editor of the Berkeley Women’s Law Journal. She received her B.A., summa cum laude, from Columbia University in 1998, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Mr. Whitson is a partner and chair of the Products Liability Practice Group at Schnader; his multi-faceted practice includes general commercial litigation, product liability litigation, and environmental law. Within these areas of practice, he also has broad experience in bankruptcy litigation and insurance coverage disputes. Additionally, Mr. Whitson is very active in the Firm’s pro bono efforts and serves as an active member on the Firm’s Pro Bono Committee. He represents clients in all types of immigration proceedings, including asylum applications and removal proceedings. Additionally, he has participated in several pro bono programs through the Allegheny County Bar Association and the Pittsburgh Pro Bono Partnership. He received his J.D. from Washington University School of Law in 1993, and a B.S. from Duke University in 1990.
