Williams Appointed as Representative for Angel Flight Mid-Atlantic
On February 15, 2008 by Schnader in LitigationRobert Williams was recently appointed as a community representative for Angel Flight Mid-Atlantic (AFMA), a charitable organization that provides free air transportation to indigent patients requiring evaluation, diagnosis and/or treatment at specialized medical facilities far from their homes.
The organization serves an eight-state region including: Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Delaware, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia. In addition to indigent patients, AFMA also transports precious cargo – such as blood, medical supplies and key personnel – for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Emergency Air Transportation System during national emergencies.
As a community representative, Bob, who is currently a volunteer pilot for AFMA, will be responsible for recruiting additional volunteer pilots and educating others in Southwestern Pennsylvania about the nature and availability of Angel Flights.
