Public Relations and Communications Manager – Philadelphia

Job description

Schnader is seeking a goal-oriented, positive and energetic self-starter to manage and increase the public brand and profile of Schnader and its attorneys, both regionally and nationally, through media and public relations, marketing and promotion. This candidate will work with and promote the attorneys, practice groups, industry groups, offices, departments and the firm through writing and speaking opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and cultivate relationships with media contacts in each of the cities in which Schnader has offices. Provide firm-wide public relations and communications support to the firm’s offices.
  • Meet with attorneys and attend practice and industry group meetings as a public relations advisor in order to identify opportunities to promote the firm, practice and industry groups, offices and attorneys.
  • Develop and pitch story ideas, articles, alerts, interviews and speaking engagements to the press and other outlets. Draft media pitches and press releases.
  • Handle day-to-day press relations, media inquiries, external communications and crisis communications. Conduct research and prepare lawyers for press interviews, pitches and other marketing opportunities.
  • Ensure the integrity and consistency of the Schnader name, its attorneys, its brand and messaging, internally and externally.
  • Assist others in the Marketing Department with maintaining the firm’s social media presence, which includes assisting with drafting and posting articles, alerts, social media content, blog and website content.
  • Track industry publications and recommend public relations opportunities to attorneys.
  • Leverage the firm’s use of social media.
  • Create and present media/public relations, social media and LinkedIn training seminars for Schnader attorneys.
  • Negotiate and coordinate publication agreements.
  • Provide assistance to others in the Marketing Department with rankings, surveys, award submissions, pitches and proposals, where necessary.
  • Assist with Marketing intern selection process and managing interns.
  • Fulfill other duties and projects as required by the CMO.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in English, Journalism or Communications.
  • 3 year minimum of media relations experience in a professional services firm, preferably a law firm.
  • Experience writing and preparing marketing communications materials.
  • Experience pitching content to the media required.
  • Impeccable research, writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent project and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask under pressure in order to meet tight deadlines and deliver an excellent work product.
  • Must demonstrate responsiveness to media and internal constituencies. Must have highly professional demeanor, ability to interact successfully with lawyers and staff at all levels. Must have discretion and diplomacy and the ability to use professional judgment to deal with sensitive, confidential matters. Must be self-motivated and deadline oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize and communicate complex subjects clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing with reporters, attorneys, marketing professionals and vendors.

Desktop Support Analyst – Tier II – Philadelphia

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responds to Help Desk calls and emails by researching and troubleshooting problems with software applications, hardware, printers, laptops and smart phones
  • Provides deskside support
  • Provides printer and printer driver support for VDI environment as well as physical Windows computers
  • Enters tickets into Footprints ticketing system. Clearly documents user requests and issues on tickets
  • Provides status and communicates incident resolution to users
  • Performs software installation and upgrades on physical Windows computers
  • Provides support for users on Citrix VDI environment
  • Assists IS team with testing and troubleshooting of software packages
  • Performs support functions for various law firm applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Payne Numbering Assistant, iManage document management system and Best Authority
  • Participates in and contributes to department projects
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Provides on-site floor support and after hours support coverage

EXPERIENCE:

  • Four years of desktop support experience
  • Experience with Citrix and VDI technology
  • Experience with Windows 10 and MAC computers
  • Experience working in a law firm environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Payne Numbering Systems, iManage document management system, Best Authority and other legal software applications

SKILLS:

  • Proficient with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with Help Desk ticketing software
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic understanding of Active Directory

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Monday – Friday; 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
  • Some after-hours support needed on a rotating basis
