2010 Nonprofit Financial Professionals Breakfast Sessions: Raising Funds from For-Profit Organizations

Morgen Cheshire, co-chair of the Nonprofit Organizations Practice Group, and Marla K. Conley, an associate in the Firm’s Philadelphia office, presented a seminar titled, “Seeking Support from the For-Profit Sector: How to Structure Corporate Sponsorships that Maximize the Benefit for Your Nonprofit Organization” on Wednesday, October 6 as part of the 2010-2011 Nonprofit Financial Professionals Breakfast Sessions. The seminar, hosted by Asher & Company, Ltd., discussed creative ways of approaching sponsorships, shared insight about how to obtain corporate support, and explained the tax and other legal considerations that organizations must be mindful of before entering into sponsorship negotiations and agreements. The presenters also discussed the best way to approach potential sponsors and how to maximize the benefits received by your organization when structuring the relationship with these for-profit partners.
