Emily Daly Participated in Webcast on Consumer Financial Litigation

On October 27, 2017 by Schnader

Emily P. Daly participated in The Knowledge Group’s live webcast, “Understanding How Spokeo Affects Consumer Financial Litigation” on October 30, 2017 from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.

In May 2016, the United States Supreme Court ruled in Spokeo, Inc. v. Robins that a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) or Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) is insufficient to demonstrate Article III standing. This decision created a significant barrier to plaintiffs seeking FDCPA or FCRA class certification.

The webcast provided an analysis of trends and recent court decisions in consumer financial litigation following the Supreme Court’s Spokeo ruling. Please visit The Knowledge Group’s website for more information.
