Federal Judicial Conference for the Central District of California
On March 31, 2006 by SchnaderJudge Timothy Lewis delivered the keynote address, titled “The Current State of Federal Judicial Nomination and Confirmation from an Insider’s View,” at the Federal Judicial Conference for the Central District of California. The Conference was held at the Ojai Resort in Ojai, California from March 31 to April 2, 2006 and was attended by judges from the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the United States District Court for the Central District of California, as well as approximately 150 lawyers who regularly appear before both courts. Judge Lewis discussed the history of the Senate’s advice and consent function, and how it has manifested itself in the past decade and with the last two Supreme Court nominees.
