Richard A. Barkasy and Kenneth R. Puhala presented a program on “Bankruptcy and Restructuring – The Wide-Ranging Effects on Businesses that In-House Counsel Can Expect in 2021 (and Beyond) As the Pandemic Is Brought Under Control and, Hopefully, Ended.”
This virtual program on February 25 was a roundtable discussion offered by the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC).
The impact on businesses of the Covid-19 pandemic has only begun to be felt. Despite the large increase in bankruptcy cases already seen since the beginning of the pandemic, an even more dramatic increase should be expected in 2021 and beyond as a result of the challenging financial situation that the pandemic has caused. This will create problems for businesses in all industries and for their partners, customers and vendors for years to come.
The February 25 virtual roundtable program considered the bankruptcy and restructuring trends and issues businesses should expect to see, the options to prepare for and manage these challenges, and how in-house counsel can best respond.
