Schnader attorneys Megan E. Harmon and Elliot Dater presented “Sales of Good Contracts – Avoiding Common Mistakes” on October 14, 2014. This one-hour CLE, presented through the Western Pennsylvania Association of Corporate Counsel (WPACC), reviewed the RFP process, drafting tips for purchase contracts, warranty language, statements of work and changes, remedies and addressing special provisions such as commodity pricing, exclusivity clauses, requirements and other “boiler plate” provisions.

Ms. Harmon is a partner in the Business Services Department, co-chair of the Environmental Practice Group, co-chair of the Energy Practice Group, co-chair of the Sustainability and Environmental Services Practice Group, and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. She concentrates her practice in business counseling, transactions, mergers, acquisitions and dispositions, project development, public-private partnerships and finance, and has extensive experience in contract negotiations, federal and state compliance matters, employment issues and procurement.

Mr. Dater, co-chair of the firm’s Emerging Companies Practice Group and partner in the firm’s Business Services Department, focuses his practice on defense, technology and life sciences companies, investors in all stages of private equity financing, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, commercial law, government contracting, and general corporate counseling.
