Molly Unterseher served as a faculty member for the Philadelphia Bar Institute’s “How to Start and Run a Nonprofit” on March 11, 2016, in a live webcast. Panelists explored the ins-and-outs of the nonprofit model, including the fundamentals of incorporating and drafting articles and bylaws, filing for federal tax-exempt status, navigating state and federal compliance requirements, understanding UBIT and other taxes, and the key components to composing the best possible board. Discussion included hypothetical situations, so attendees can understand critical decisions and useful strategies.
