Panel Discussion: Civil Litigation in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania 2009 – A Practical Guide for Today’s Litigator

Ralph Wellington, Chairman of the Firm and a partner resident in the Philadelphia office, served as a panelist for a program titled “Civil Litigation in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania 2009 – A Practical Guide for Today’s Litigator.” Other panelists included several judges of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and many of Pennsylvania’s leading practitioners. Attendees were able to learn what is expected and required to litigate a case successfully in the Eastern District, from pre-filing investigation through trial. Topics covered included pre-complaint investigations and initial pleadings, class actions, electronic discovery, settlement versus trial, and the digital courtroom. The program, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, was held November 20 at the CLE Conference Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
