Partner Daniel Brooks Discussed “Appropriation Art”

On February 9, 2016 by Schnader

Partner Daniel Brooks was part of an open discussion on “Appropriation Art” before the American Bar Association Committee on Visual Arts, Dramatic Works and Motion Pictures on Tuesday, February 9, 2016. A recently filed complaint against Richard Prince by photographer Donald Graham whose Instagram photograph of a Rastafarian was included as part of a Richard Prince exhibit held at the Gagosian Gallery provided the starting point for the conversation, which focused on appropriation art and fair use, and how far the boundaries extend.
