Partner Denny Shupe Spoke at AVICON 2016
On September 28, 2016 by SchnaderPartner Denny Shupe discussed “Litigation Ethics in the Social Media Age-How Well Do We Know It When We See It?” as a luncheon speaker at RTI’s AViCON 2016 Aviation Insurance Conference, which took place on September 28-29 in Stevensville, Maryland.
The two day conference focused on issues arising from aviation industry accidents, and included a series of interactive panel discussions by legal and insurance industry experts directed to a fictional case study arising from a collision between a regional airline and a general aviation aircraft at a regional airport.
Mr. Shupe addressed legal ethics developments to watch in 2016, including proposed changes to the model rules of professional conduct; application of the rules of professional conduct to social media issues, including the preservation of social media evidence; and recent case law and ethics opinions addressing the use of social media for investigation during discovery and at trial, including arising from the most recent Oracle v Google litigation.
Other featured speakers at the conference included Commander Brian Binnie, a test pilot and astronaut, who discussed his experiences as the test pilot of SpaceShipOne.
