Presentation and Panel Discussion: Criminalization of Aviation

Denny Shupe, a partner in Schnader’s Aviation Practice Group, was part of a four-person panel that presented a six-hour tutorial titled “Criminalization of Aviation” at the 40th Annual Meeting of the International Society of Air Safety Investigators, held on September 14, 2009 in Orlando, Florida. The interactive tutorial addressed some of the many challenges faced by all parties involved in the investigation of a major safety event.

Mr. Shupe was joined on the panel by Real Levasseur, Safety and Security Representative for the Airline Pilots Association of Canada and formerly a senior investigator with the Transportation Safety Board of Canada; Vonnick Le Guillou, Esq., partner and head of the Aviation Department at Bird & Bird in Paris, France; and Julianne Fox Cummings, the Managing Scientist for Exponent Failure Analysis Associates.
