Saul Wilensky Addressed Freshman Class at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine

Saul Wilensky addressed the freshman class at the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine on May 9, 2013 on the topic “Complications, Adverse Outcomes and Medical Malpractice.” The presentation discussed the “informed consent” document; evaluating the medical complication rate in terms of acceptable risk assumption; community standards; the distinction between adverse occurrence and malpractice; trends of frequency and severity of medical malpractice claims; risk management and the concept of defensive medicine; and the claims process.
