Schnader Attorneys Serve as Co-Chairs for the Barristers’ Association Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast

On Monday, January 18, 2010, the Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia hosted its annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast. Albert S. Dandridge, III, chair of the Firm’s Securities Practice Group, and Rachel E. Branson, an associate in the Firm’s Business Services Department and Intellectual Property Practice Group, served as co-chairs for the event. Ms. Branson also serves on the Executive Board for the Barristers’ Association, and serves as the organization’s Vice President of Finance.

 

Philadelphia’s newly elected District Attorney, R. Seth Williams, Esquire, was honored with The Honorable William F. Hall Award and also served as the keynote speaker for the event. Mr. Williams, who was sworn into office on January 4, 2010, is the first African American to be elected District Attorney in Philadelphia. Other individuals and organizations recognized at the event included: The Legal Intelligencer, Inc., with The Outstanding Organization Award; Valerie I. Harrison, Esquire, with The Woman of Distinction Award; and, Wadud Ahmad, Esquire, with The Outstanding Young Lawyer’s Award.

 

Each year, to honor the memory of Dr. King and the important contributions he made to American society and to the world, the Barristers’ seek to recognize attorneys and judges who have been leaders in the Philadelphia legal community, and who have made significant contributions to the city and the region at large through their work, dedication, and public service.
